spare plugs in relay box?

I've been tracing wiring today to solve a problem with the radiator fan operation - now fixed.

While I had the relay box open, I noticed two multi-pin plugs (one white and one black) that are not connected to anything.

Anyone any ideas what they are for? I have a 1997 K1100LT without the cat.

Obviously not needed but curious...
