|
|
When changing the air filter I noticed one of the hoses (air return pipe) on the front of the air box is cracked. I spent 2 hours at the local dealer working with the parts guy and we were unable to find a part number. This was after they ordered the wrong part last week.
The bike is a '95 K11RS, two hoses attach to the front of the ai rbox to the right of center. The left most hose, or the one closest to the center, is the one. The other end of the hose attached to the left side of the motor under the fuel rail and intake manifold. In the Service manual they show a picture and refer to it as the "AIR RETURN PIPE". No such part is illustrated in the parts catalog.
The hose is about 6" long, is specially formed, and has a different diameter at each end.
Can anyone help in getting the PN for this???

Unfortunately the part is at the dealers as they continue their search. _________________ "I don't believe in the after life, although I am bringing a change of underwear." - Woody Allen

I think #9 is it:
Do a search on Max for part numbers:
Hose: 13311461971
1-time Clamp: 16121176918 _________________

Did you check the part number on the hose when it came in?
Also might help to have a pic of the faulty part itself - the Max site is so awesome because they supplement it with their own pictures. Here is the one they show for that part, does this look like your faulty one?

Oh.... I get it, MAX's BMW.
By the shape it looks like it could be # 15/PN 11151461834 from diagram 13_0522 - THROTTLE HOUSING ASSY/CONTROL UNIT
Bring More Wallet OMG!!!! $71.20
The diagram seems to show #15 plugging into a rail of some sort. What is that rail and does it make sense to have a hose between it and the airbox? _________________ "I don't believe in the after life, although I am bringing a change of underwear." - Woody Allen

I have the correct answer for you, courtesy of the great old standby, the IBMWR K-tech section, particularly Dave Sione's crankcase vent repair - which you should probably read
Part# 11151461834
#15 in the below diagram.

I replaced that one on the '95 last winter during my project. For that number you get the 2 hoses and NO clamps to reconnect the hoses to the air box or to the throttle bodies. Or for that matter no clamps at the joint between the 2 hoses.
I have read on one of the forums, maybe this one, of a rider that took and connected the 4-port hose to the back of the block instead of the air-box for better crankcase ventilation. _________________ Ride safe.
