I previously enquired about fitting a K1200S front wheel [ rear no problem ] into a pair of K1100RS forks.
Although it's been done by one of the inmates here, I haven't been able to find out how he did it.
Anyway - I've gone into it myself now.
After a non starter looking at fitting relevant size wheel bearings to take the K1200 spindle - I've decided to have a new wheel spindle made up that will fit the K1100 forks and the K1200 wheel - simples eh? While I'm at it I decided to take the opportunity to use Stainless Steel.
That and a few spacers will get the job done. I'm having 2 sets made as I also need to fit my R1150GS wire spoked wheel into another set of K1100 forks for the Cafe Racer project.
Once I'm happy with it all, I'll get a price for 10 sets in case anyone else fancies a go. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |
