So my hall effect sensor seal started leaking. So I pulled the timing chain cover cleaned it all up, removed the old seal etc.

My question is: has anyone installed the timing chain cover first and then installed the seal?

I did this seal a few years ago and the install was a pain trying to set the seal and keeping the sealant on the cover.

Hello!

IMHO much better is to press a new seal into the cover when it is off the bike. A different drifts, sockets pipes and vice can be use to do in in proper way.

Best regards,
