Before whoever bought it installs it there's few things you might want to test:

How skippy is it when vertical?

Does it eject CDs when vertical?

My first non-BMW was a Blaupunkt. It would skip on bumps, not too bad though.

My current Pioneer head unit has just enough juice to eject the CD enough so that I can grab it. It doesn't skip at all.
