Help. I am on the road with the 96 K11RS and when I hit the start nothing .
Info:
The lights ,horn work. Battery is good. Both ABS are blinking together . But when I retract the side stand the gas and electric gauges do not come on. There is no reaction from the start button. The bike was running fantastic and then I shut it down and it would not start. I have never had this happen with either of my K11s and I am surprised. I would really appreciate suggestions soon as I am about to have it towed to Ozzie's BMW in Chico, Ca. I am in Greenville,CA.

Sounds like a bad side stand switch. If it's just not getting pushed in enough then a quick fix is to put a short piece of vacuum hose over over the tang that pushes on the switch. My LT's side stand switch was being flaky a few years ago and that has fixed the problem ever since. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I see the tang. But if you could call me on 8015588775. The tang is a little piece of metal on the upper side stand. _________________ 96 K11RS MarRed Salt Lake City

Mr Duck
That was the problem. I fumble around and finally it open and the bike started.
I will have to clean up under there and make sure it does not happen again.
Thank you Thank you
