Anybody know what the BOSCH alternator part number is?
Don't want the BMW p/n.
The p/n on my alternator cover was smudged and I can't read it
Or know where I can find it?
DUH forgot to to put the model and year....DUH!!!!! _________________ "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"!

No rebuilding it?
IMHO a rebuild of the original is better than a new one.
Sorry, someone will be along with the number soon I bet. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Well thats what I am trying to do but damn if I am going to buy BMW parts and get the SH*T charged out of me.
Just seeing if they are cheaper direct from Bosch _________________ "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"!

Any place that re-builds starters can do it.
We have a good one in Milwaukee WI. Name of " Billing's Rebuilders" I've even had them re-wind the stator on my 81 R100RS when it went.
Only cost about $30.00 eight years ago. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Ted, again you pulled a rabbit out of the hat!
I plugged that number into the Internet and came up with three hits of which this is one. Has the Bosch number and all.
The shop I brought it to could not find the number anywhere in any of his resources. Basically "whats a K-bike". He is good with electrics but this was a new one for him.
Thanks Ted

Moondog, I have to ask, what exactly are you looking for, for the alternator.
Brushes, bushings, regulator?
I just bought a generic(bosch) regulator complete with brushes back in Feb/March for my '95 and it was less than $30 IIRC. _________________ Ride safe.

Don't know yet. The shop has it and
is testing it. So far it's just dirty. Every
thing inside is ok so once it's back
together and tested again I'll know if
I need anything or not. I didn't think
anything was wrong with it but I
wanted to have it tested anyway. I
have a shot battery so it's a on going
