|

Well it's getting to be that time of year- anyone up for some lobsta's and mountain notches? We have moved the date from October to the weekend after Labor Day in hopes of missing the COLD rain of last year
Had a good group last year for the inaugural event but the "guest list" for HL2 is growing. Looks like several more lobsters will be sacrificed this year.
BTW, by moving the date to Sept, we avoid any conflict with Color in the Catskills which I hear is a great MC event http://www.huntermtn.com/huntermtn/festivals/summer-festivals-bmw.aspx
Anyway, here are our details.........
-accommodations
Dis ain't da' Hilton, it's our house. We have floor space (sleeping bags), we have lawn space (tent?), we have garage space (bikes). We should have enough good air mattresses for everyone.
-food
Friday night- LOBSTER.
Saturday night- Phil M spaghetti.
Breakfasts are pancakes &/or eggs, or?
Hopefully Saturday lunch will be a sandwich we pick up and eat in a scenic spot on our ride or the crowd might want a sit down and be served?
-Saturday ride
If the weather gods cooperate I have a few great routes picked out for Saturday. The Kanc', Bear Notch, Hurricane Mountain Road, Evan's Notch, Pinkham Notch, Passaconaway Road might all be on the trip. We'll see who wants to do what.
-fine print
Some have asked about cost. Here's da' poop. Cathy and I are happy to put on the entire event- food, beer and wine included (hey, we're not traveling at all). If some feel that they want to contribute (VOLUNTARY ONLY!!) there will be a place to do so anonymously. NOTHING MORE THAN $20-25/per.
-Hungry Lobstarians, so far
OTG
Gwen
Jim (Saltcreek)
Phil
Chip
RLeroux
Skip and Family maybe?
Lastly- how/when you get here I will leave for everyone to arrange.
FRIDAY PLANS ARE UNCERTAIN!!! Seems that OTG and Gwen are making their way here with a short stop in Vermont. Don't have any further details as of now (Sunday 9/5) Will post here when we firm up details of any meeting/riding that will be happening on Friday
QUESTIONS? INPUT? SUGGESTIONS? WISE-A$$ COMMENTS?
Finally, our address is:
171 Beaver Pond Trail
Sugar Hill, NH 03586
in GPS language:
N 44 degrees 11.378'
W 71 degrees 48.269'

Hi, John,
I plan to leave El Paso on Tuesday morning. If my trip to HM was any indication, I may be able to arrive in Sugar Hill Thursday night. I still haven't gotten any requests for Phil's Taxi Service. _________________ Ride Safe,

BRING RAINGEAR.
And for the love of the babyjesus, maybe someone can join me for a cigar this year. It was lonely on the porch by myself.
John going through the standard corporate firing/rehiring at work so it might be difficult to get off Fri but will do my best. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Hi, Dave,
I won't be bringing cigars. I get the Cuban Montecristos in Mexico and, with the problems in Cd. Juarez, I haven't been there since March of last year, when I bought the last Montecristo. Maybe one or more can be brought from Canada??? (NOTE: I don't smoke. I just was able to procure GOOD cigars in times past. I do, however, cook spaghetti!) _________________ Ride Safe,

OK, BOYS AND GIRLS.........ONE MONTH FROM TODAY the fun begins.
Hopefully travel plans are starting to come together. As we get closer to the date we can try to coordinate a common meeting place (maybe at Saltcreek's farm again?)
Perhaps those that are attending would want to PM me their cell phone number. If you sent it to Jim for HMIII, I already have your #.
The first post on this thread has details about the weekend but don't hesitate to contact me if questions remain.
Finally if you posted that you were attending but cannot -OR- have just decided to come to HL2, PLEEEEZE let us know.

Sorry to hear. However, one lobster (somewhere) is breathing a sigh of relief.
We understand when that kind of stuff gets in the way of fun.
But we will see you at HMSP IV. Be there, aloha. |

Hey Y'All,
FYI: Can't definitively confirm yet, but I'll have a passenger if I do make it. Sure hope it comes together, though. Looking forward to it! _________________ First words whispered to me by my K1100RS: Faster! Faster! |

Latest plans for HLII:
I walk out of the mine Thursday morning 9/2 and drive to Thatcher, AZ to pick up my brother-in-law. We then drive to El Paso where I do laundry, sleep, etc. Thursday night or early Friday morning we depart for Cosby, TN to visit a friend. Early Tuesday morning 9/7 we leave Cosby for Schenectady, NY to visit Cranky Frankie and spend a day in Troy, NY, where I was born and lived for 9 years. (I can taste the "Famous Lunch" hot dogs already!). On Thursday 9/9 we leave for Sugar Hill, stopping at Max BMW in Troy to browse and maybe buy a couple of parts. We expect to arrive in Sugar Hill Thursday afternoon. I'll be prepared to cook spaghetti for a couple of dozen people, assuming Cathy has sufficient pots! I'm looking forward to this trip!!! _________________ Ride Safe,

Lets not get all over-excited just yet. My company is in the process of being taken over by the local conglomerate, and even though I put in for Fri off, don't have a definite yet....will let you know asap. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006
