Something to watch out for as I've not come across it before.
Was checking my tyre pressures when the whole valve shot out. Easily replaced (with new obviously) but I dread to think what might have happened had I been actually riding the thing!
Anyone else come across this? |

I think tire changers always remove the valve core to change the tire. Sounds like maybe someone didn't get it back in tight. Was it stripped? _________________ Jim

Complete new valve stem every tire change every time.
Too important to skip such a small item.
I know I know, it's overkill and they can go much longer than that.
For me, when I do that, try to go a few changes, I'd forget where I was at, so I just get a new one every time.
Been doing that for years, never a problem. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

| It wasn't the valve core, it was the complete thing. I'd always have it changed along with a tyre but there was plenty of life left in tyre and it had been fitted by the previous owner. Just something to consider when you don't know the history! |
