The brake fluid started pouring out of my FMC yesterday, pulled it apart and sure enough the outermost seal on the piston seemed to have one flat side. Off to get a replacement, the outer dust cover thing was all torn as well, I guess it's just old age. But none of it was leaking till I replaced the front pads, I guess I must have disturbed it enough then to finally get it leaking badly.

One more job done! Now to tackle bleeding the brakes.......at least I have a full complement of speed bleeders to make it a bit easier.

You need to be very careful and S-L-O-W-L-Y push the caliper pistons back out or you can blow fluid past the seal. I did it too fast on my RS. (How I learned this. Doh!) Leaked for a couple of days, then healed itself and has been fine for over a year now.
