Any interest in a 2nd annual northeast crustacean feed weekend?
If a HL2 is to happen we first need to set a date.
This year it should happen in September (for better weather)
Here are the choices:
I think that Labor Day weekend (9/3, 4, 5) is NOT a good option- people tend to have other obligations and cage operators may not be paying attention to bikes.
Friday 9/10 to Sunday 9/12 is the only weekend that Phil Marvin has off from the mine and could attend. Keep in mind that is already a short week since the Monday before is a holiday.
Friday 9/17 to Sunday 9/19 is possible, as is 9/24 - 9/26, but no Phil.
As it was last year (unless a big mob shows up), lodging is at our house and everyone will have a good air mattress to use. (sorry about last year, Scott). Just bring a sleeping bag.
Also, we provide all the food, plus beer and wine.
So, please let us know if you want to attend and which weekend ASAP. Gwen wants to come but needs to let her work know far in advance.

September 10-12 is good for me. Please let me know how to contribute with planning and preparation.
I will be on 2 wheels, followed by my wife and daughter in the SUV... so anything extra needed (grill, smoker, tables) can be brought up as well. _________________ 1994 K1100RS

"Just waitin' on a friend".......
We need just one more con-firm to nail down the date. DAVE, you out there?
Looks like HL2 might be happening on Sept 10-12.
BTW, just found an outrageous road for the Saturday HL2 ride. But you gotta' be here......
Lots o' lobsta's, Phil's BMW world famous spaghetti, lots of curves and scenery plus wine, beer and perhaps a cigar with the "infamous" OTG---- what more could you want????
Dis' will be the place to hang.............
Be here- aloha.

Hi, All,
My work schedule is wierd. I have off 9/9-9/15. I can't make it from El Paso to NH unless I take some vacation days, SO, decide QUICKLY if it will be 9/10-12. Once the decision is made, I'll see if I can take, say, 9/7 and 9/8 as vacation days. I'd like to ride the K75RTP, but I might have to do as I did at HMIII and drive. If I do (and if it's more convenient with him or her), I could pick up Gwen in Culpeper and/or Dave on Long Island and drive him/her to Sugar Hill, then return the same way. I have to be back at work in the mine on Thursday 9/16 for the night shift. Yes, spaghetti is on (if I make it there), but cigars aren't. Alas, with the drug problems across the border, I haven't gone into Mexico for over a year and that's where I got the (Cuban) Montecristo. _________________ Ride Safe,

Looks to be a set date for HL2, September 10-12.
Hopefully having it a month earlier this year will bring us better weather.
By the beginning of July I will post an official HL thread and ask the mods to make that one a sticky. Stay tuned....... |

Pick the time, I'll be there, but I must know in the next 30 days due to scheduling for time off at work. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Gwen,
That is the date- Sept 10, 11 & 12.
Last year those from further away made their own arrangements. I am closing my office on Thursday Sept 9 and will head south to meet up with anyone who possibly want to gather somewhere- possibly at the Saltcreek farm or elsewhere.
You let us know how and when you want to stop on your way here or meet OTG or ?? and then do a group ride to Sugar Hill.
Let us know YOUR wishes.

Count me IN!! I need to talk with Steve to see if he can and wants to come.
I'm off the 8th thru 15th.
Heck, my wishes are just to show, shut up and keep up.
If someone posts up a meeting place and time to join up and ride north, I'll be there. I'm totally casual about these these things. Too much planning is too much stress. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Sorry for the delay, BC., Cathy and I have been in your country, visiting Quebec for the past few days with some friends. I haven't been on line much.
As Scott mentioned. We are in NH just about 1 hour south of the Canada/U.S. border.
In a week or so, I will ask the moderators to create a "sticky" when I post the official HL thread. That will have all the details.

Hi, All,
My work schedule is wierd. Every 28 days I have 7 days off, and HLII falls on that 7 days. With the couple of vacation days I'm taking, I CAN MAKE IT!!! Because of the distance involved and the necessity to be at work in AZ the Thursday after HLII, I believe I will drive instead of riding the K75RTP. I have a Honda Accord coupe, and will be alone. So if anyone would rather travel in air conditioned comfort, out of the rain AND is reasonably close to my route (I-10 to I-20 to I-30 to I-40 to I-81 to I-84 to I-91 to Sugar Hill, NH), let me know and I can pick you up and drive you there and return. I can carry one other person comfortably (front seat) and two more (supposedly 3 more, but they'd have to be VERY friendly) in the back seat. I plan to leave Morenci, AZ the evening of Labor Day (9/6), drive home (El Paso) and do laundry and sleep. I'll leave El Paso Tuesday morning, spend Tuesday night in AR or TN, Wednesday night in Pennsylvania and arrive in Sugar Hill on Thursday evening. Let me know if you want a ride. _________________ Ride Safe,

I'm trying to arange or re-arange my schedule to see if I can make it this year or not.
My youngest daughter(14) has decided to move in with me. She came yesterday. So now with her living here that changes a few things.
Seeing as she will most likely be in school at that time, IF I can make it, it will basically be a short direct up and direct back without too much side track.(sorry Dave).
And by then it may be ok for a longer trip too. Just don't know yet. Will be establishing new routines and schedules for a while.
She was planning on going to SD with the family anyway so that won't be an issue for that trip. _________________ Ride safe.

Long, long ago I discovered that the hypotenuse is less than the sum of the other two sides of a triangle: taking my family home to Wisconsin from El Paso, (or, for that matter, to points east of Chicago), I saved a couple of hundred miles by taking Highway 54 from El Paso to either Wichita or Emporia, and then catching I-35 north (in my case, to I-90).
But Phil could probably take I-35 to Desmoines and then head east on I-80, if there were passengers to be picked up along the way. _________________ 1993 K1100LT (Washington)

Scott,
Great to hear that you might be here for HL. I do understand that it is a "maybe".
Phil,
Your new Honda will end up with more miles on it that your bikes . Just be ready to ride a loaner when you get here.
Stay tuned......should have a HL sticky soon.
