|

Hi guys,
Got an ebay deal ending soon that looks good on a non abs instrument cluster to replace mine (an ABS bike). Bad idea? Will it work? Just getting desperate to not pay $500 at this point. _________________ 1992 K75S

if the one you are looking at on e-bay is the 1985 cluster, It will not work on anything later then 1985. There was a change in 1986 so it will not work on the K75. _________________ Ron

The tach circuitry is different. 2 valve Ks picked up the signal from the coils, 4 valve Ks get it from the Motronic. It MIGHT work but personally I wouldn't risk the money.
Also note that 88 and earlier clusters had blades where the wiring harness connects, not pins like the later bikes. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Thanks guys, you saved me about $80. Much appreciated. The one I was looking at was a 87, not the 85. It would be for my 92, so no work. _________________ 1992 K75S

Update: I found a guy in town who has a very reasonably priced 1995 ABS unit, will this fit the 92? _________________ 1992 K75S

My guess would be that the '95 version will be abs 2 and yours is an abs 1 so it won't be interchangeable.
Keep looking. _________________ Ride safe.

They never put ABS II on K75s.
Something about the speedo changed for the 94 and 95 model years. Not sure what though. I think that one might work for you but I couldn't guarantee it. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Looks like we're in conflict. I ordered the thing too.
Hope you're kidding, assuming you're not.
UPDATE: They had two. _________________ 1992 K75S
