You can do the throttle body sync and balancing yourself also. I use a carb tune that I got from your side of the pond. No messy (deadly) mercury to play with. _________________ Rich

Hello all
I bought my K1100RS about one month ago now, with 60k on her. She has been a bit neglected and I dont have any records of what has been done. First thing was to gain access to the gear position indicator as it ceased to function correctly. A tiny spring in the switch had broken...so I made a new one. The drive shaft was phased and the splines lubed, changed gear box oil, and lubed everything that moved.
Its summer here in Ga and the fan would come on now and again. I pulled the radator off and washed the out side with strong soap and water. I was suprized how much hurl and gack was jammed into the fins. Fresh BMW antifreeze and distilled water was added. Huge difference in cooling, fan comes on, but rarely.
Front master cyl. leaks so I pulled it today. Why did BMW leave 1/2" of extra wire for the heated grips? Naturally I broke those silly wires and now I shall have to figgure out how to fix them.
This will be a lengthy Full Service |
