Gidday I was wondering if the bolt pattern on an early k1200 5 spoke wheel is the same as a k1100 not worried about the exhaust as this is being modified. Thanks Mick _________________ 92k1100 lt with sidecar. 93K1100 CAFE..86K75C.95 k1100lt |

Hi,
yes all the same and interchangeable - K75, K100, 1100 and early 1200 [ 4 bolt ].
I have 3 spoke K1100RS wheels in my K100 Streetfighter and soon to get R1100S [ same as 1200 ] 5 spoke wobblies. I'll be swapping in a set of k1100RS forks, brakes etc., but as yet I am ubdecided if I want the extra weight of the Paralever.
I'm going down the 5 spoke wobblies route on my K100 race Rep project as well. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |

Great thats what I was hoping I will have to fit a wider tyre as the bike is destroying the back tyre since my mods(look at cold air intake its definatly pushing out more hp)must get it on a dyno to find out just how much more , you might be able to do something similar for the k100 it would be a bit more difficult as you would have to include the air volume meter but I have seen pictures of a similar setup on an ufinished k100 caferacer project . Anyway thanks for the info on the wheels Cheers AUSBRICK . Mick _________________ 92k1100 lt with sidecar. 93K1100 CAFE..86K75C.95 k1100lt |

IMHO the small increase in weight is far outweighed by the improved handling.
Back to topic, to fit a wider wheel, don't bugger about with the exhaust (muffler) often removing the brake calliper gives enough clearance whilst fitting. _________________ Regards Tim,

Hi Tim,
having ridden both my K100RS and K1100RS pretty rapidly and after my Track Day pal's comments - I can't honestly see that there is any significant difference between the two. Maybe I'm not pushing hard enough yet.
I read somewhere on a forum that several people have fitted the 4.5" 3 spoker without major problems on an otherwise stock bike - but mine is FAR from stock , so no probs!
BTW - I'm off to Keihan's tomorrow to hopefully sign off on the underseat system for the Race Rep - can't wait.
Also, the stock replacement system [ K100 ] has been finalised and I'm getting it back to trial on the K1100RS. _________________ Beachcomber '93 K1100RS / '93 K1100LT and several K100's |
