I've been reading as many back posts on this as I can find and am looking for confirmation (or not). I have read that the wider 4.5 x 18" rear wheel from an R1100RT requires removing the stock exhaust to mount/dismount the wheel on a K1100LT. Is that correct?

I have a line on a nice RT wheel for my (new to me) LT but if that's the case it sounds like a PITA in the event of a flat, although I still might do it. However, I have no intentions of replacing the stock exhaust with an aftermarket to make it easier.
