I can insert the key but can't open the gas tank. The key turns but the tank doesn't unlock. Any solutions?

Thanks

Try pushing down very hard on the key and the cap too. There's two little tabs at the end of the lock core that turn a little plastic bucket that has two holes for them in there. Sometimes the little tabs on the lock core break off but it's usually the plastic cup wearing out.

If you do get it opened, I'd recommend not closing it until you have the problem resolved.

At the risk of being obvious, the key turns to the right or the left but it only opens to the left.

Trying not to hijack, but the "turn LEFT to unlock" gas cap is always opposite to my first instinct.

Even after riding a K for almost 5 years now I still catch myself turning the key to the right sometimes to open the gas cap. Rolling Eyes

Hi, Drikko,
Since you're Down Under and even drive on the wrong side of the road, do you turn your petrol cap key to the right to open? Laughing

Speaking of hijacks, is it true that the toilet water spirals out the other way down there?

Yep those are all true, but don't forget our kids all ride kangaroos to school, 10/12/2009 is in December like the rest of the planet and we can divide measurements easily, like in 1 second tell me what half of 6' 3 7/16" is?

As for the toilet water, that can be varied by using one of these:-

Here's another typical thread where a new member asks a question and the replies degenerate into nonsense. Smile Smile

Hey Ted did you figure out what's wrong yet?

Yeah, what he said- by now we figure one of three things have happened:

1) you solved the problem

2) you didn't fix it and just stopped riding since the bike is low on fuel

3) you didn't fix the problem but kept on riding, the bike stopped in the middle of nowhere and you are still walking home

Seriously, and all kidding aside despite all the jokes Rolling Eyes

Like Jim asked- get your gas cap problem fixed?
