After replacing the clutch on my K11RS I didnt replace the lower section of the fairing. The bike needs the fork seals doing and a service pretty soon.

I've noticed the temperature guage is a couple of notches lower and the bike is as cool to ride as my K75.

Has enyone noticed this ?
In a couple of weeks I'll put the fairing back and see if i start sweating.

You will!! I just rode home from work and it was 35C and it was as hot as.. well you know where!! I might try the fairing off tomorrow too! Can I assume it can't hurt anything?

I've noticed no difference with the handling up to 180kph.
Our temp has just crept over 30deg and she's now a pleasure riding in the slow freeway traffic going home from work.

The bike does look a little untidy with out the bottom section, if i decide to keep her semi nekid then a couple of alloy strips may be put on the fairing to hide the clips.

I have run since new around town plus up in the hills & yes it's cooler. I've also put a spark plug cover from the K1100LT on after some 6m tapping in the lugs provided.I take that off when the bottom goes on.

My humble apologies for the comments on our weather.
I spoke to my dad today, he's in Fleetwood. It sounds atrocious up norf.

It aint all fun here, while you are freezing your butt off…we are sweating like pigs and fighting dehydration with buckets of cold beer.

Seriously though.. the ride to work at 6:30am is a joy. Its clear, 25deg, the sun isn’t too bright.
Coming home is different, we are getting temperatures just over 30, the humidity climbs, there are frequent thunderstorms with HEAVY rain, sometimes iwith hail the size of golf balls.
I’ve been lucky to avoid the hail but had my share of rain. I swear the loonies here drive faster in the wet.

Autumn and spring is awesome riding weather in SA, winter is pretty good inland where it dosent rain for 4 months of the year.

Cheers
