Pulls harder and no more hot seat and hot nuts as hot air doesnt build up under tank seems to be pulling a bit harder too,its a bit ugly but works really well ,will test some more and refine then add sports muffler to help it breath even more . still having trouble getting these pics and text to lay out the way I want[ 6 pics spread out] Cheers AUSBRICK MICK

Interesting project. Certainly simplifies working in the area under the tank and, as you state, would keep things cooler. I would worry about wet weather riding.
BUT WHOA- we got to talk about how to post pictures!! You may get the award for the w-i-d-e-s-t post of all time. _________________ John & Cathy

the "enter" key between consecutive [ /img ] and [ img ] tags is your friend.
looks like you either have rocket launcher or male anatomy attached to your bike ... _________________ (formerly) 1993 k1100rs |

I added some carriage returns to the initial post.
Just taking the fairing lowers off would reduce the heat significantly I'd bet.
Cooler, less restricted airflow should give you some sort of power bump. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

What is that sensor in the end of the air tube? what did you do with the vent tube that was going into the airbox? Is there anything else you had to modify?

| that is the airtemp sensor, normally this is found at the right hand side of the bike, in the back of the air box. |

Hello fellow k hoppers , have given the bike a real good run in some really hot weather and its,s definately cooler in the saddle, also pulls harder down low through to about 6 thou then feels like it is choking will definatley get on to the exhaust which should improve the top end. Gave the new plumbing a bit of black paint and it,s not looking as phallic I,m actualy getting to like the look . I,ve always dropped the lower fairing come summer even on my k100 rs as it makes for a cooler ride and looses afair bit of weight. The only things I had to alter was the radiator hose on the left had to be reversed this made more room for the front intake tube as to the sensor in the intake its the air temp sensor and the breather was already modified as you can see in one of the photos. Took me a while to reply to quereis as I, ve been away . more to come on this as I think the exhaust will increase power even more and so far it,s cost very little Cheers AUSBRICK MICK _________________ 92k1100 lt with sidecar. 93K1100 CAFE..86K75C.95 k1100lt |
