They look baddass, like you should do stoppies and wheelies with 'um. My tires are starting to show wear pattern that's not quite normal. Too early to tell but it seeeems that BOTH sides are wearing faster than the center.
I know that the center is of harder compounds..... Like I said, too early to make that call. I think I got about 6 grand on them this summer. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I know that I got a little over 8K on my pr2 before I ran over a piece of ceramic and put a hole in it. I think I could have squeezed 12K total out of it.
I have a Metz Z6 on it now, we'll see how it performs. A little bit of tread whirring in corners, but if I had my earplugs in I wouldn't be able to hear it. _________________ Ride safe.

Yet again, another tire option that's not an option for the LT in stock sizes. What's up with that? _________________ Jim

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
The PR2's may not be a fit for those AWESOME roads your on.
Those Conti's look freakish, U R in Californication, might be the ticket.
Keep us up to date on how they perform.
I have no stock in either company, I buys what I feel good about.
I might need more freak next year. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

j o,
We'll be looking for detailed "test" results- a.k.a. how well they work.
The change from the Z6 to the PR2's have been very positive- could the Conti's been even better?
Inquiring minds want to know.................... _________________ John & Cathy

i asked the man what the mileage was when they mounted the set i got installed on december 6 2008...
seems we have covered 19,200 miles on the bugeye motobrick in 11 months... we have had 2@ 4 week layoffs off since then... so in 9 months of actual riding we averaged 6,400 miles per set of pr2s...
heres the deal... we took the 1 set to cords... the next 2 sets we changed with at least 1000 left on them... so im thinking its safe to say the pr2s are good for 6500 to 7000 miles of aggressive 2 up 1200 pound loaded motobricking...
next up the new and improved longer milage conti road attack sport touring mileage version...

Sounds like fuzzy math to me. _________________ Jim

I can't run a PR2 rear due to the K1100LTs odd rim sizes, but I am running one on the front (first one ever).
It's got 6600 miles on it and most of the tire has a bit of life left, but left of center it's hit the wear bars.
I normally get 4000 miles out of tires on this bike. And I've been riding it pretty hard on these tires. I'm pretty happy with the PR2/Azaro combination. They're both going to wear out at the same time more or less. Handling has been quite good. This is the first set of radials I've ever had on the LT, primarily due to the proper sizes not being available in radials.
I've got another set ready to put on when I get off my ass, assemble the tire changer and crack the book and read through how to pull and install the wheels. I haven't pulled a wheel off a bike in 25 years. The front wheel doesn't worry me much, but having never pulled a wheel off a shaft driven bike before, any gotchas I should be aware of? _________________ M N B

You will spend more time removing the front than you will on the rear.
The rear is easy.
Put the bike on the center stand, remove the center wheel cover, remove the 5 lug bolts, remove the wheel. Don't loose the spacer ring between the wheel and the hub.
That's all there is to it.
When I re-install the rear, I torque the bolts in 2 stages. 1st stage I set at 50Nm then the final value of 105Nm. Both in a criss-cross pattern. Center bolt 1st.
Unlike the front where you have to remove the rear fender half, remove and support the brake calipers, unbolt and remove the axle assy without loosing the bearing spacers.
Then trying to line all that up again going back together.
Of course that's all after you block up under the engine to get the wheel off the ground in the 1st place.( but you knew that )
Make sure that you recheck your ABS sensor spacing on the front after you reinstall the front wheel. The last time I had my front wheel off it must not have gone back on in the exact same way cause I had to adjust my abs sensor, it was causing the abs to activate at stops. Prior to removing the wheel it had not done that. _________________ Ride safe.
