I have changed my clutch cable and since it seems that it does not fit correctly : very bad CLANG when I shift from Neutral to 1st gear. I have tried to tense it as much as I could by using the screw just next the handle but even so still the same bad noise and shock that I did not have with previous cable. (When installing new cable I was carefull to follow same way). If someone as an idea to solve that problem, I would appreciate.
Thanks in advance.

Or since you already have the cable on you can set the adjusting screw at the hand grip so it is almost all the way in. Now go and adjust the bolt on the clutch arm to get your 4mm of free play at the hand grip. Both ways get you to the same end result, it just save you from taking the cable back off the lower end.

If you just want to adjust the cable then it's very easy to do. Pull in the clutch and shove a block of wood between the clutch arm and the exhaust. This keeps the clutch arm held in.

Detach and adjust the cable.

Re-attach the cable, pull in the clutch lever and remove the block of wood.

Easy peasy.

Keep this in mind when you are riding down the road and your clutch lever won't return because a piece of gravel will do the same thing! Very Happy
