Has anyone ordered their Remus exhaust (or anything else) from Maxmoto in CA? Just looking for experiences, good or bad.
TIA,

Blair Rawls,
Ask for a Mr. Knut Wagner. 415 355 1400
He has a German "twang", is a nice guy, and he knows his stuff!
I have been there, know the many of the gang, and trust them myself.

I bought a Remus from Maxmoto for my '98 K1200RS. After 3 years and 15,000 miles it developed a crack in the weld around the exhaust nipple.
I emailed Knut Wagner who asked that I send him the can. About three weeks later a new can arrived in the mail. I'm thinking I'll have a Remus on my '93 K1100LT. |

I put one on my 96 K1100 last winter. I can't give you a report the how it works, but the buying experience was good. Be prepared to drop about $800 or so for can and header which you can buy separately. (some assembly required ) Installation is easy. Make sure header nuts are drawn up evenly. And check your tightness of "nuts" after your first ride (long ride). You wouldn't want to lose those would you? . Install header first then the can and make sure everything is lined up and where it suppose be before all the hardware is tightened.
I'd give you a ride report but crashed my R-bike and sustained broken leg and haven't be able to put the k-bike back together or ride the r-bike. Going to be a long summer _________________ "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"!

I've been very happy with mine, both the buying experience and the exhaust itself. I got the upswept system, which they don't sell a lot of, since you can not use the left bag.
The only problem was that the muffler mount cracked, rather than replacing it I fabricated a new heavier duty mount, probably over kill, but I made it out of scrap that was laying around, so cost was nothing other than time.

My '93 KLT came with a Remus installed. I'm not sure which can is on
the system, but the noise level can seem quite loud when I have the
hard bags on, & I'm cruising thru town in 2nd or 3rd gear. Out on the
road with earplugs, & full face helmet, its no big deal & sounds nice &
throaty. Fit & finish seem to be quite good, a quality unit. My .02. _________________ Kent

Is Maxmoto the only US supplier of Remus M/C exhausts? _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |

I've seen a few ads for Remus exhausts by other vendors (e.g. PipeCity). I ordered mine from Maxmoto back in '04. _________________ Blair Rawls
