Looking at an Aeroflow. Anyone have a better idea. $49. Got a hole in my lens last week and have a week long trip coming up Sunday 7/12 over in Duck's neck of the woods. (Skykomish River)
On edit, They've got one for a RS for $39!?! Same headlight, 10 buck's cheaper. Go figure. They (A&S) also have fork boots for $49 EACH and you supply your own zip ties. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

When I called aeroflow they had some with minor imperfections they were selling at a reduced rate. I bought one for I can't remember how much and couldn't see anything wrong with it. Ride 100 miles and it's going to have minor imperfections anyway. _________________ Jim

For years I used headlight protectors I bought at my FLD's shop and they were made in New Zealand. I can't remember the brand name now, but they were $29. Whether they worked or not, I don't know; I know I never broke a headlight lens. _________________ Ride Safe,

Hi,
I just went to an auto parts store which caters to the "bling" and off-road crowd. I asked for Rancho 1952 boots. He asked me why I wanted Rancho, that he had aftermarket boots, just as good as Rancho, for less money. I bought them (a pair, sealed in a plastic bag, INCLUDING a pair of zip ties) for $6.50 plus tax. They're now on my K75RTP. I don't remember the brand and I no longer have the invoice, unfortunately. _________________ Ride Safe,

That would be "Ventura"... gotta get mine back on, usual problem - velcro cooked its glue and luckily I noticed before it detached on the road. May organise some thin strip-steel brackets next time the fairing is off!! |

Hi, Max,
Ventura is correct. I've had 2 of them and, unfortunately, left them on the K1100LT's when I sold them. One had a small crack in it. Better have a crack in it than a broken lens. It was there for years; I don't remember anything about when it happened. I bought some Velcro strips and, about every year, cut new small rectangles and replaced the spots of Velcro then in use, attaching the protector to the lens. _________________ Ride Safe,
