Just trying to gauge interest. Who is close enough to consider an event of some kind in New Hampshire this fall? _________________ Jim

I know we have 2-3 NH folk, but can't we split the difference and make it CT? Or at least MA? Or upstate NY even? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Jim,
I would definitely be in and would give you a hand in any part of it.
OTG's idea of mid- or lower New England also has its merits.
Guess we would have to get a preliminary head count and find a suitable location (a.k.a.- reasonable lodging, good roads, good food)
Hey Jim- first some stickers then a "Hungry Lobsta" weekend- what else you got up your sleeve?

Jim,
As I posted the entry above, I remembered this. It is kind of getting away from your concept but BMWMOA does a get-together in the Catskills in early October:
October 2 - 4, 2009
2nd Color in the Catskills
BMW MOA
BMW MOA & Hunter Mtn Ski Resort > A fantastic Octoberfest event. The BMW MOA and MAX BMW, in conjunction with Hunter Mountain, is pleased to announce the second annual "COLORS IN THE CATSKILLS" event to take place at Hunter Mountain, NY the weekend of 2 - 4 October 2009. This event will be an all brand FREE gathering featuring off road riding, sport riding, sport touring riding and touring bike riding opportunities. Hunter Mountain has offered us the chance to ride right on their ski slopes in a series of off road riding demos and classes organized by Team MAX from MAX BMW. Here is a perfect opportunity to find out what that big GS, 650 GS, or any other dual purpose or off road bike can really do once the tires have left the tarmac. This part of the Catskills also has some pretty nice county maintained dirt roads to explore on your street legal dual-purpose bike. We will have route sheets available for individual or group trips off the beaten track. For more information contact Michael Friedle at mfriedle@verizon.net, and watch the BMW MOA Web site.
Just offering a suggestion- food for thought. We could form our own "K" corral when we get there. I am familiar with the paved back roads in the Catskills.
As was said in the movie Dodgeball- "just spitballing here"

I was assuming you as co-coordinator. I just thought it would be interesting to see how many would be interested. And jealous of hungry dungee. Lets bump this along for a while and see who washes up. _________________ Jim

HUNGRY LOBSTA!
I love it! With some maple syrup on his head!
Great concept. I'd be up for a 2010 event in your neck of the forest. _________________ tlp

Understood. But I'm talking about Hungry Lobsta II. (Provided Lobsta I happens!)
Phil may be able to do the Mother, Dungee and Lobsta in the same year, but us mere humans are fortunate to make one!
Or maybe 2010 is the year of the "Lobster Mother"? _________________ tlp

Hi, Klinker,
If I still had a job, I couldn't. But since I was laid off in February, I have the time and, fortunately for now, have the money for gas so I can attend these events and meet some of you face-to-face. I'm writing this from my daughter's in Dallas. I left home yesterday on my way to visit friends, family, and the MOA Rally. I'll spend a couple of days at home and then leave for Seattle and Hungry Dungee I. I could be talked into riding to the Northeast in early Autumn for a Hungry Lobsta I, too! _________________ Ride Safe,

SugarHill and I are hoping to do a ride and check out some potential locations. Please chime in if you think you might like to ride the White Mountains for a weekend. Pictures hopefully soon. _________________ Jim

Thanks to SugarhillCTD who led me on a merry chase yesterday afternoon through the White Mountains and "North of the Notches" here in New Hampshire. We did a little scheming while pausing to catch my breath and will have more thoughts on this meeting soon. _________________ Jim
