Hi Folks,
I am going to look at a bike Saturday morning with $4k burning a hole in my pocket
What do you all think?
http://www.verrill.com/hunt/k-1/
It isn't a K11 but I had one before and it seemed like a good place to start (again!)

If you don't snatch up, I might! (just kidding) I'd love to get a K75(s) to add to the stable. Seems about as nice as they come, but $4k? Seems a bit steep, more like $3k. _________________ Steve

Ted,
The K75S (that is the designation, right?) has always looked clean and light to me. If I was to do another non-current BMW- it would be THAT bike.
I have been eyeing several others for sale just like that one. Great lines, great looks- a better ride for 1-up, curvy road fun.
Good luck!

The K75s were known to be very smooth. If it's in as good of shape as it looks, that'll be a fine steed, Ted.
It'd be good to have you back on a brick.

Ted:
It does look a little faded though. I used to have a yellow 1979 RX-7 (great car even if it was yellow) and I'd use color restorer on it every year which kept it looking very nice. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

What in the hell are you talking about?
Nice looking K. by the way. The value of a bike is what it is worth to you. I just picked up a Triumph Tiger and I believe it was a bit high but it was local and what I wanted so I got it. If I had found one cheaper elsewhere it would have cost me more to go get it and bring it home.
Now I'm no official here (after re-reading the thread it seems that you are) but I tend to think of this site as more of a K site and not K1100 ... but I could be wrong; I await my walking papers.

I think of it that way too. All the K's (K1100LT, K1100RS, and K75's and even the K100's) are so closely related and so many parts are the same, that info about one often applies to all of them. _________________ Steve

You got that right Lots of folks here came with K11s and moved to other K bikes. Since the K11s are so similar to the K75 and K100s much of the tech translates, and everyone should feel right at home.
I know the price is about $500 too high, and I wish it had a recent clutch-back spline lube and the touring bags instead of the strap-handle bags - but I have been looking for a while and this seems to be the best that has come along.
Plus, if I can find a set of decent K75 "C" bars cut for heated grips I can do the swap and ride it down to the National I actually have a set of stock K1100RS bars, maybe someone would want to swap???
I am out of town next week so I will only have literally one day to do it and any maintenance needed - that would be a busy day! _________________

The 4V K100RS has more in common with the K1100s than it does with 2 valve bikes so you're better off here than you are anywhere else. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Clean & low miles, but just as important, seems like the PO CARED about it.
Makes all the diff. You may get a better deal, but if ya got da scratch, and
the ride checks out, I don't think you can go wrong.

Ted:
Good luck finding C bars without going new. Those are pretty hard to come by. I had a local guy convert an S to RT bars so that's another option to consider. You'll be very upright though but it's probably even better than C bars for long distance touring.
And barbacks are another option.
And you don't need to have the bars drilled for heated grips. I'd recommend using the Symtecs and wire them to an OEM switch. I've done that on several Ks and even crazy Johnny went that way when his OEM HGs went out. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I looked at the A&S Cycle barbacks:
But at 1.5" up and 1.5" back it seems a bit much. Is anyone aware of anyone that makes a little less lift, so it more closely resembles the "C" bar? _________________
