Yup, after a brief, but glorious fling, I have to sell the brick.

It's not her, it's me. And my kids. I had this horrible dream the other night that I had to say goodbye to my two year old, and after reading far too many accident stories lately, I'm going back to the cage for a while.

I lost my brother while he was driving to work 3 years ago, so it really tends to hit home. He had 5 daughters between the ages of 3 and 9.

It's in CT, with only 15k on it. Everything on it works perfectly, ABS, heated grips, Corbin, bags intact... Apparently it tipped over on a gravel driveway once, but it's in beautiful, clean condition.

I'd like to get $4500 from a KOGger, I'll be hoping for more elsewhere.

Also comes with a multivario and is wired for the quick-plug battery tender.

Sorry to hear mate, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Nice low mileage brick, should go quick.

(From Flying Duck to OTG: I removed the images you reposted for fnord. I know you were just trying to help but those pics are frickin' huge so I think they're best left as links.)

Good luck on the sale.

Years ago, I did the same thing. Cathy and I rode our '81 Honda 900F Supersport all over the northeast US and Canada.

Then the kids came along and I sold it. Just stopped. Spent the next almost 2 decades doing the minivan, family vacation, youth hockey, ski/snowboard vacations.

Years went by and both of the kids got past 18- worse case scenario, they are now adults.

Now I am back on the bike and Cathy rides as passenger. Both our kids now ride. Matter of fact- in about 2 hours from now the 4 of us are leaving on a 6 day MC trip to the coast of Maine on the 3 bikes. (pictures of the trip will be posted)

You got to do what is best for you and your family- I did. Don't think of your decision as final, just a temporary side trip.

Some day you will know if/when it would be right to be back on two wheels.

DON'T be a stranger around here- we need all the (mental) help we can get!!

John

FNORD.....your concern isn't hard to understand....your mental state is important when riding a bike....if you worry about having an accident while riding, low and behold a person can actually set themselves up for having one. I agree....and think your wiser to be cautious while doubt looms in your mind. And losing someone close to you can easily cause serious misgivings about our optional lifestyle.....wait until your in a better state of mind before committing yourself to riding again...it's simply to easy to have your ticket punched.

Note for the sale of your bike.

I see a large gap (looks like 2 or more inches) between the tank and your side panels. This is a condition that you may not have noticed when you bought the bike. Possibly the PO had replaced the runners that run from your gas and temp guages down to the bottom of the fairing (they no longer come from the factory with the pins installed...they have to be measured drilled and installed by shop or owner). The pins that are located for anchoring your side panels are mounted to these runners and can easily be improperly located while being installed, if the installer doesn't know how to properaly align them. By all appearance the (brass) pins need to be removed and relocated up the appropriate amount to bring the side panels in close alignment with the bottom of the tank (approx. 1/4 from tank). IT WILL MAKE YOUR BIKE LOOK MUCH BETTER in order to sell it. Another note....if you follow this advice you'll want to drill the new holes for the pins in such a fashion, that when the panels are reinstalled the old holes won't show....so you have to do some visual sighting before determining where to drill for relocating the pins.

I hope you aren't offended nor put off by my suggestion... Rolling Eyes but with the low miles on the bike there are a few things you can do to get the money for the bike that you want....maybe even use some metal polish on the exhaust canister.....

Good luck and best wishes on your future plans.

Well, the bits of interest that I got from IBMWR didn't pan out, as people have been too busy to come to the sticks where I live with all of the big rides going on right now (there were at least 500 Harleys at a local bar today), so I'm on to eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=230346477041

I did get out the Noxon and clean up the muffler, and spent some time cleaning her up and drying her off, it's always such a sad thing to do when letting go of a bike.

Honestly, this is the first bike I've ever owned that didn't leave me thinking about what my next bike was going to be.

Only 16K? That should sell well I'd think.

Me being nitpicky: It's got ABS I, not ABS II. I know it says 2.05 on the ABS brain but technically it's still ABS I snce you have the black can modulators.

It's weird, there are 2 other very similar Ks on eBay right now.

Same color.

One is also at 16k, the other at 30.

Both are within an hour and a half drive from me.

However, mine is the only one with a black final drive.

<sniff>

I watched her drive out of the driveway today, in the hands of another man.

His daughter has just graduated from high school, and he had held off riding until... Today.

Kinda ironic how it worked out, ending up with someone in a very similar situation to my own. I got my asking price as well, and am wishing I hadn't set a buy it now price.
