I know a dude in Japan who will fix ABS I brains for $200. I sold him a bad one last year so he could experiment. He can now fix both K75/K100 ABS brains as well the K100RS4V/early K1100 ABS I brains.
Given the age of the components he gives a two week guarantee but I asked him if he'd do 90 days. He said another $50 for a 90 day guarantee.
I can put you in touch with him of you drop me a PM.
(Disclaimer: I don't get a commission or anything out of the deal. He asked me if he could post here and I told him he'd be viewed as a spammer but volunteered to post for him to help out people here who need ABS brain work done.) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Oh yes please mine has gone tits up. If any one knows where I could pick up an 1994 ABS11 brain I'd be real chuffed.
Cheers |

My 2c here - having looked into doing this here..
- common failure seems to be water getting in and the electronics dying in the resulting bath.. Even if your ABS-1 is going OK, do occasionally "pop the top" (just don't go fingering everything, some of it is static sensitive!!) and have a check. The orings are aging no matter what...
- If you do get a repair, don't assume it's going to stay; no disrespect to Duck's contact, but from
having done some other electronics restorztions recently the liklihood of a cascade failure - fix one thing, and the newer (often improved) components overstess other original parts further along... I'd guess its even more likly for a high current, occaional use system like ABS. I'd be very surprised if there would be any small repair shops out there that would give a 'usual' guarantee. Bigger shops might, at a price to cover their investment in test jigs, experience and liability cover!!
Sort of coming to the conclusion here of 'excercising' the ABS-II every month at the least, and hope that the commonality of v2 with the R1100s might make replacement more possible....
