As noted elsewhere my radio seems to have died, there's power going in, the internal fuse is fine but there's no life. So my question is: what could be a good sub? Is there anything apart from the bm which will connect to the standard remote unit? _________________ Cheers, Steve H _______________________________________

thanks FD, that looks perfect. Might have to pass on the remote - looks a bit beyond my pathetic diy skills! _________________ Cheers, Steve H _______________________________________

Looks good, Rich. I'm thinking about replacing mine - but don't even need a cd player - just high def and an input jack for the iPod. Hope I can find something like that... _________________ Jim

Hey Jim,
There are lots of Pioneer DEH models on ebay that are cheap and it is easy to cut off the bmw radio plug and wire it into the new radio so it plugs into the bmw harness.
Also use 3M duolock velcro instead of the double sided tape and make all the wires come in and out on the same side so you can remove it from the motronic unit and move it off to the side if you have to.

Given the experiences of us here I think it's wise to go with he Pioneer head units. Some CD players don't take well to a vertical mount but the Pioneers seem to. I've had mine in for 4 or 5 years now and it only skips when the road is REALLY washboardy. My prior Blaupunkt was much more sensitive. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
