Guys, you must had a great time in the HM meet!
Some year to come I'll go to the meet, but I'll go riding my KLT from Brazil!
A 30 days trip. Piece of cake....

Great pics folks. Shogs your hair looks great!
Rich was at my house! |
Yeah, yeah, yeah.... I'll believe it when I see it. We're thinking about a 3 day weekend next year - more riding, more rain, more breakdowns... NOT More riding and hang time... _________________ Jim

Rich was cool enough to wait close to an hour at the Sheetz while I was stuck in traffic... The under headlight Hellas are BRIGHT!
Pit stop on the way south - it was kind of a boring ride - it helped a lot to have Rich along.
ride break
you can see "The Blob' in the upper right hand corner
The Blob selects Steve's bike for destruction - Gwen just barely escapes - you can see how The Blob sort of passes over her

Steve checks the ON Anonymous
Steve trespasses...
Steve's K gets a ride home
looking at pix of the weekend - and it's still the weekend...
Sean enjoys a C___n
our cabin - Chestnut Lodge
Gwen and I stop near Afton mountain at the overlook

It was a good weekend - good company, good food, good riding. Scott and Steve were kind enough to turn around and pick up my backrest after a gale force wind snatched it off my bike and threw it about 40 feet in the air - unfortunately, they weren't able to retrieve the remaining speaker grille.
Sean and Scott helped Audi tweak the rear suspension on the K - who knows what happened to the Ohlins?... Kremlins? (they're like gremlins - only they work on K bikes...) It's much better now - thank you, guys! _________________ Jim

Hey, Audi - it was good to see you! Thanks for your help with the suspension - it's a lot better now. I still had to adjust that other knob - compression? It was cranked all the way to H/hard.
I had the bike down to Charlottesville for some maintenance - after Anton came back from the test ride, he said the ride was "firm - not harsh, but firm".
I'm changing the trailer hitch, overhauling the Uni-go and adding another set of lights before I head west. _________________ Jim

Well, I finally got around to taking the pics off the camera and phone.
I tried to spend time actually riding instead of shooting pics, but here's a few.
The trip started at Sean's place with some Italian.
Then a few days in the 95+ Florida sun.
Then up the east coast.
These are just north of Daytona Beach. Nothing special but I had to see the coast.
Then up to North Carolina where I stopped and visited a WWII era battleship. Of cource it was the U.S.S. North Carolina.
The Iowa class battleships are the only class larger than this one.
Then it was up to Steve's place.
From there we eventually made it to the campground.
The 2nd anual Bird shot.
Then of course there was more food.
I was foolish to think the trip home would be uneventfull. Not long after Sean and I parted directions, I ran into this traffic jam.
A mile and 1/2 later we got around the bend, I was thinking an accident or something but nooooooo. Not a single thing wrong just slow traffic.
Then I had to have more food at home.
Man that local Prime Rib is delicious.
End of report. _________________ Ride safe.

Wow Scott! 4,000 miles! That's about twice what I ride in a year!
I think you win the longest drive to get to HM award (unless Phil went further) even though you detoured through FL on your way from Iowa to Virginia! _________________ Steve

You know, Phil and I had this discussion when we got there. By GPS totals he put on 100 miles more than I did. Even with my Florida detour.
I also enjoyed almost every mile of it. _________________ Ride safe.

As did I, with the exception of the day I rode from Hope, AR to Dallas in a torrential downpour. Frogg Toggs work! I hope to be able to see all of you again next year at HM III. _________________ Ride Safe,
