I was just looking at these tank bags on Cycle gadgets.
These bags flip forward to allow one to gas up. My question is, these bags are for the K1200 and they don't list one for the K1100RS 1996.
Would the K1200 model fit my bike or have the tanks changed from bike to bike?

The tanks are different - I imagine the fill assembly is too - but you'd have to check with a dealer on that. I think if it fit the K11 they'd probably have it listed. By the time you got that tank bag, and all the accessories, you'd have a chunk of change tied up in it. _________________ Jim

The mounting plate for Big Mak tank bags require a fill cap with perimeter screws. Something like Allen had:

Not sure where one could find something similar. I suppose a talented, resourceful fabricator could devise a custom mount... _________________ tlp

is this the kind that attaches to filler cap and flips up? _________________ "Badges? We don't need no stinking badges"!

No - this is the kind that has a base that attaches to clips on either side of the gas tank, and has a hook that goes over the front of the tank - the bag then zips to the base. Like this: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0536&mospid=47926&btnr=16_0273&hg=16&fg=20h
Held makes a similar bag - more pockets, less money - I think. Check Motobins. _________________ Jim
