I am looking at changing my fuel gauge for a VDO. Can anyone tell me what the empty/full ohms are for the K11?
Thanks,

Rich,
You can't get there from here! VDO has three different ranges availabe. I don't remember exactly what they are but here goes a rough idea.
VDO-301105 is 240/33ohms works right just way off on readings
VDO-301106 is 0/90ohms this is spot on but runs backwards, so what you need is a 90/0 gage. Tech at VDO says this is an older bendix setup and does not know if anyone makes a gage for it.
Don't recall at all what the third one was. It went the proper way but was way off on readings. I put a trimmer on it but the range was to far out to make it work. I think the closest I got with it was full was full and empty was 1/2 tank. Or the other way around.
I ended up leaving the 0/90 ohm one on and just read it backwards. Silly thing is I go by mileage and hardly ever look at the gage. I just wanted working gages.
There are companies that are supposed to be able to open the gage up and recallibrate as needed. I did not contact them but you may want to.

BTW the VDO-310105 water temp gage matches the fuel gage and reads correct.

Thanks, I thought it might be an easy fix but maybe I'll just leave the bouncing gauge in.

I just fiinished replacing my fuel and water temp gauges. I found that VDO does make a fuel gauge that works with our K1100's. It is a gauge that runs 90-0 ohms and is number 301-107d. The d is for the dark face. This gauge is used on older tube type fuel gauges. It has a calibration screw so you empty your tank and set the screw/dial to empty. This gauge also lights up a lot better than the OEM gauges. I already replaced the bulbs with LEDs. As Jeff said above the matching replacement temperature gauge is 310-105D.
Each gauge cost $25.55.

Rich - these are damped gauges, right? Where did you get them? If you say Pep Boys.... _________________ Jim

Rich - I was told you may be able to help.
I have 95 K1100RS. Fuel gauge is not working. Got a VDO gauge but can't figure out factory wiring harness to new VDO gauge connectors matching.
please see this post for all details.
