|
|
Hi all,
Does anyone have the definitive answer as to what relay etc. to "Pull" to put the ABS2, on a K1100lt, into a failsafe "Off" position?
Please don't advise against the wisdom of such an action, it is in regard to a "competition" situation !
Yes, I know, K1100lt...."Competition".............WTF! ! ! _________________ Regards

Not sure about any power relay to remove, but you might accomplish the "disability" by unpluging the ABS control brain that sits behind the coil pak on the left side of the modulator. Thay may even also disable the flashing lights as well. _________________ Ride safe.

That thing is kind of bear to get to and disconnect..
If you're looking for a way to temporarily disable it then I'd lift the tank and disconnect one of the ABS sensor leads. That's sure to put it into fault mode. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I know it's a pita to get the connector disconnected just thought it might have been the lesser of 2 evils instead of pulling the tank to get to the power box.
Doesn't the wire for the rear sensor go up the right frame rail by the rear brake resivour with a plug connector there?
Could probably trace it back there and disconnect too. _________________ Ride safe.

Maybe it's one of those "I can brake faster without ABS" deals..... _________________ 93 LT (x2)

If I don't "beat some sense into myself", between "Now and Then", it's likely to be exactly that
Call it a Mid-life Crisis thing, I do , but I am thinking of entering a Hill Climb
As you will know, with the ABS enabled, the rear brake is all but totally infective. With it switched off, you regain some control over balance _________________ Regards

Exactly the sort of comment I was hoping to aviod, 'though quite understanding as to why it was made
This is to do with control and balance, not braking distance, although I do think there is room for debate on this too, in specific circumstances _________________ Regards
