Hi all,
Question, I have a '92 K100RS that when the key is turned the starter engages, engine turns but doesn't catch. The fuel pump instead of making the quiet whizz sound makes a buzzing sound. I have changed all of the relays, checked all fuses, and even pulled the fuel pump out of a '91 KRS I have and tried it in the '92 and same buzz sound and no starting, battery is fine, lots of juice. Prior to this when running it sometimes felt like it was getting bad gas, a little rough running at times. I have changed the gas in the tank and the filter seems to be clear. Any thoughts?

Fuel tank connector. The are known to get flaky on some K's. Clean the contacts or, as a test, try hardwiring power to the fuel pump. For obvious reasons, avoid generating sparks in the fuel tank.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the connector, with the gas cap off I can see and feel the fuel pump run. Kind of aggravating, this problem appeared in the autumn and I thought it was a relay issue that would be an easy fix, but had been riding my K75S and the final drive went out on it yesterday, and now the 100 won't start. Thanks for the input, any other thoughts?

Remote possibility of the fuel pressure regulator stuck open, not allowing system to build up pressure, thus the fuel will not flow thru the injectors into the cylinders?

Just a thought run thru my head if anyone thinks that could be a possibility.
