our jacket and pants liners were great at blocking the wind... they were great keeping us dry in the mist and the kinda wet... but earlier this year we rode an entire day in a torrential downpour and got wet all over... luckily it was warm out or it could have been bad... so the search was on...

a few weeks ago we scored teknic otisca pants and jacket after reading reviews and seeing them at closeout prices...

these things are not as packable as frogg toggs but they are top notch... to store we just roll them up and put them in our bags... they take a little room but the sacrifice is worth it... they have mesh liners to keep wet away from the skin and clothes... they have all welded seams... lots of adjustment... the pants effortlessly slip over riding pants and the jacket effortlessly slips over riding jackets... the collar covers the whole neck... they block the wind... and best off all... no leakage...

we rode 7 hours yesterday in a driving rain storm for most of the way... mostly torrential rain... not a single drop of water made it to our clothing... i was hoping these things would live up to the reviews and they did...

they say order your normal size because they are sized adjusted to fit over riding gear... they are pretty snug but snug is good with 1/8 mile viability doing 80 on the 40... im thinking order true to size for snug fit or next size bigger if you dont want to be a sausage...

with free shipping... using a discount code... and on closeout... we had about $30 into each set... and believe me... ms bug was happy i packed them away for her...

no regrets...

JO.
Here in Brazil I and Adriana use a Nelson Rigg rain clothes.
Mine is a one piece, and her is a 2 piece.
Last year, coming back from Santiago, Chile, I had heavy rain for 1300km in one day, from San Luiz to Buenos Aires, and the water didn't come in!
I recommend the Nelson Rigg.

So, JO, how do you think they'd do in a frog-strangler?

it was a frogg strangler... no photographic evidence cause ms bug didnt want to waste out the camera...

under cover here... it was torrential... the sky was black... looked like night...

doc... im surprised you folks have to use rain gear... i was thinking that adriana is so hot that rain simply vaporizes and evaporates within a 20 meter diameter of her...

Behind a LT fairing you could have worn a tank top and shorts. What's with that stubby little windshield? Laughing

Nah, the LT always lets those annoying little droplets fly up from underneath. Annoying in a half helmet. It's the rainy days when I miss my K75RT with +2 OEM fixed windscreen. 100% dry behind that thing.

You can't mean one of these? Put Kato on your noggin. I've never been annoyed by water droplets.

Steve, run your mouse up on the text, it will turn into a little hand, click on that. Then you can't register, critique the use of the shift key, nothin.

Gents, if I recall correctly, JO put that site up to post pix of his rides. He wasn't paying enough for the space he was using here - and on top of that, apparently one of the mods bitched at him for posting really big pix. I think JO said he has it set up so we can look, but we can't touch... Laughing

When you mouse over the words, you'll see the hand icon. Click and you'll be magically transported to JO's ride report site. Once there you can leisurely peruse the pix JO has posted for your viewing pleasure. If you click the board stuff once you're in the site, you'll see there's only one member - none other than our own JO!

Thanks for another ride report, JO. Keep up the good work.

JO buys a domain name and sets up a phpBB forum just to post ride reports. He also uses screwdrivers to pound nails. Twisted Evil
