Since I"m going down the coast, I decided I didn't want to mess with heat pakcs like I usually do for my toes. The Grbing's heated socks are supposed to be nice but they're $60 and people report that walkign around on the wires isn't fun. So I started poking around for heated insoles and found these on sale for $10:

They are battery powered - by, get this, EIGHT C cells. Petty crazy if you ask me but fortunately that's 12 volts so I'll cut off the battery pack and replace it with an in-line on/off switch and Powerlet plug for riding.

i have done a fair amount of business at sportsmansguide.com...

its one of my regular stops for looking at interesting ch1t...

i should get the spoiled one a set of those... not for riding... but for all around use...

I found a post from someone at ADV who has been using them. He said that he doesn't really notice them - except when he forgets to turn them on. So I get the feeling that they put out a moderate and comfortalbe amount of heat.
