Hi guys
im new here and im new to BMW rideing heres a pic of my bike its an ex police model hence the single seat and radio box (makes for a spacious boot [trunk}) i got the bike direct from the police its a 99 modle with 61000 on the clock.i am realy impressed with it its a very very different bike from my last ride a hard tail harley chopper!
only things i dont like its to heavey! the seats to wide and it needs nother gear! part from that its geourgeous!

oh and id quite like it if it would actualy start!!! see my other post in tech

It really doesn't need another gear. K bikes are high RPM bikes. You'll get used to it - just don't be afraid to romp on the throttle. Very Happy

Welcome....

Very true.

I have had my K1100RS for a little over a year and I have only started to get up there on the revs. What have I been missing!!!!!!All along I have been using the lower rev torque- but....

Couple of days ago I got on the Interstate and hit 7500 rpms in the first 3 gears. Shocked Shocked Shocked

This bike is really growing on me.

Think I'll "stick with the brick"

John

Took me a while as well to feel comfortable winding out the rpms.

Beautiful bike mate, love that ivory white, very Stormtrooper-esque.

Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the welcome guys Very Happy

Yeah i think since ive only ridden naked bikes its the fact you only hear the engine noise rather than wind noise that makes me think at about 3000rpm sounds like it needs to change gear!

so i only got a taste of the real power on the motorway at 80mph open the throtle then and its off like a scalded cat wow!! Very Happy

yes i think it looks good in white to -storm trooperish i like that.

yes even though it wont start at the moment i still think i got a seriously good buy its very obvious that its been looked after realy well washed every day and kept in a garage, Ive started going over it with ACF50 to keep it looking good.

Nice one malaki, thing is with these bikes they love long distances and eat motorway miles for beakfast. Heavy, yes, aah but drop the screen right down let the revs soar in the lower gears and it's a totally different animal, as I found out in the Alps last month - and it WILL go right over in the hairpins. I would say the best sports tourer BMW ever made for my purposes. And there's a long list of mods.
