We got my wife a '95 Yamaha Virago 250 last week to learn street skills. It has 8800 miles on it and I took it for a little spin today. I could hear some chain noise so I looked at the tension and there was a lot of slop in it so I adjusted it. Well, when I spun the rear wheel, the chain went from tight to loose depending on the wheel position. Either the chain is stretched or one of the sprockets is screwed up, I'm betting on the chain though.
Anyway, I was looking for a FREE repair manual for this bike all day and could not find one. I hate to pay for one (K1100 manuals are free) if I don't have to so if anyone has a link to a freebie I would be forever in your debt. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

I was thinking the same thing for my other half before I let her loose on a big K bike.
Look here for a manual. They are free.

New chain and sprockets. They're consumable, and you'll find they're well and truly consumed, so need replacing. _________________ 1992 K1100RS - Red and gold. |

Scott, I found the carlsalter site on my own but the manual was in a foreign language!
JO, I am currently waiting for my "account" to be activated. Thanks! _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT
