My brother hasn't ridden the Ninjette since he bought it a few months ago. In fact, since I rode it home for him, he's NEVER ridden it. I think he's waiting for the rainy season. It looked lonely under the cover today so I deicded to see if the battery still worked. Started right up. Very Happy

Doesn't even move until 7k or really get going until around 10k rpm - redline is 13k. Shocked But I suppose that's part of what makes it a good beginner bike. It does move OK in the upper RPMs but I'm glad I only weigh 160 lbs. It accelerates like a scoot down around 4-5000.

IT BAKED MY THIGHS like a K - but it was in the upper 80s today.

And it took me a few turns to remember how to use Jap turn signals.

Kind of weird to ride a 300 pound bike when you're used to a topheavy bikes with more than twice that weight.

But at least it seems like it does like to be ridden hard and is quite nimble in traffic if you keep the revs high. VROOM, VROOM!!! Very Happy

A low horsepower bike like that can be a blast to ride. Pin it in every gear and hold on, and who's the wiser? Sneeze and it will do a flip. Pick the wheels up off the ground in a fast transition.

I've noticed that I don't need super horsepower and riding something light is really satisfying much of the time.

I have a sister like that. She could go days without opening a present. Me, I can't wait. A new toy gets played with, no matter what!

I can buy a bar of chocolate or some special treat and then wait until the perfect moment when the desire for it's the strongest and enjoy it 10x's more than eating it right away.

Cool

Take a look at my sig. A K and a 250R. There is something fun about having to really pay attention to the revs and keep the engine spinning.

Don't take the 250 out much- our daughter (when she is home from college) and son (gone in 2 weeks to 1st year of college) use it mostly- so this Fall I will use it for my short commute. Like the light weight (1/2 of a K) and the 70+ mpg.
