They stay on when the headlight is on?
How easy is it to get to those bulbs?
Have to take the fairing off? _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

Yes, they are on all of the time - just like your stock parking light.
It's a pain in the butt. BUT complete fairing is not required. You will however need to remove all of the interior panels to get the headlight lens off. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

In your case this can be arranged. Chances are I'll be riding down the coast in either October or November,

Ok ok, I can't stand it. I'll take one, please e-mail me the invoice and I'll pay in which ever method you prefer. You know me, I won't stiff ya on it Drake.
The LED instrument kit was way cool ! Maybe this will also help me be more visable to cagers.
Got a good scare on Friday afternoon.
The typical pull out in front of ya routine. Car on the right, young kid, I see him look right, look left at me, then look right and PULL OUT!!!
WTH!!!!
OMG these K1100's stop/slow fast! Clutch in, brakes on hard! Scary & of course I was speeding, 42 in a 30 ! Nuff room, Im slowed to a walk, cussing & dropping down to 1st gear. OK, I'm going to be fine. Oops. Kid finally sees me & has the I don't know WTF I'm doing look & pounds the accelator down. Now he's doing the front wheel drive slide & squirm RIGHT AT ME!!! He's three feet over the line!!! Rev it & bang it, right left zig zag & ha ha miss me you did! Holy Hell! Now I'm really pissed off, I slow, thinking of stopping & power sliding around to go back & have a little light duty work, naw forget it. Can't be good karma to go back & start chit.
Adrenaline wears off, I'm still pissed, but I laugh, laugh hard too.
Cheated it again.
The first K1100 I had this year succumbed to unfortunate circumstances. I've had about one close call a week since then. Friday's was pretty close, but I had at least 10 ft yet. Long as I'm not trading paint I usually just laugh it off, unless it's with malicious intent. Then I most certainly will tempt fate & spoil my karma to inbuke rebellious justice, JIC they want to play another day with someone not able to return in kind those actions.
Promise to post pics of the bike with the kit installed.
Maybe I need to name her to change my luck? _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

You need to be aware of the fact that people expect to see CARS when they check - many times a motorcycle simply doesn't register - If someone is looking right at you it often means they're looking right THROUGH you. That's what I always assume.
Not that I should talk since I like to zip acround city riding but it wouldn't hnurt to slow down a bit either - gives them more time to see you and you more time to react.
To be honest, the LED parking lights might help a little but you need something that realy stands out - that's why I have the caliper mounted lights on my bike. Johnny's organe alien lights re even better. But even with those I never trust any car OR MOTORCYCLE - I've had blind motorcycle riders try to take me out too. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Truer words were never spoken!
I'll still try them LED lights.
Promise not to let them lull me into a false sense of security. _________________ 1993 K1100RS that I'd rather be riding FAST!

Boy do cagers hate it when they get a boot-print on their fender... or even think they might have one. It's the blue-hairs that get me--they seem to think that the honking is trying to get them to wave at you or something like that.
Airhorn and strobes, now that's the ticket... |
