I ran across a reference to these on the MOA forum. Has anyone tried to add something like this to our K11's ? (Maybe Drake??)
Take a look at.....
www.cipausa.com
.......for mirror accessories, and look for 'ADD-A-SIGNAL.'
I have found them at several locations on-line, including Amazon.
I have a set on order.

Check out their model 08801:
I think the arrows would work fine on the LT. On the RS, where you can only see in the outside quarter or third of the mirror, putting some of the 08801s on the outside might be better.
Either one is good in my book. Your bike can NEVER have enough LEDs. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Say, that strip of LEDs would sure break you of running for miles with a turn signal on.

Ed - don't know what you're riding - every BMW I've owned has/had self canceling signals. _________________ Jim

Yeah, I know, but I have owned several twins that didn't have self extinquisers. And my 650 Dakar doesn't have them either.

There are cool. Little blind spot mirrors with LED turn signals you don't have to wire up - they're solar powered. You hook up a small transmitter to the turn signal wires in the tail cowl which tells them when to blink. A bit spendy at $149 though.

Lots of people selling LED arrows on FleaBay too:

I see lots of the LED turn signals down in Rancho Mirage where retired people buy lots of newer luxury cars - yes, people even leave their turn signals on with the LED mirrors. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I have Kasan turn signal minder and the LEDs that they make on the bottom of my K11 mirrors. They really make a difference as far as visability.
You can see the left (as you look at the bike) one on in this picture. For some reason the right was blinking and I snapped right as it was off. Anyway, on the back they are red and they blink sequentially with the turn signal as well as light up as with the brake lights. _________________ 1997 K1100LT

I got some of these off of eBay. They're way to big for the RS mirrors which is where I planned to install them. I'll put them on my dad's car for Father's Day since he's always commenting on LED mirrors when we drive around and wants some.
I ordered a set of these and will try them instead:

I ordered the chevron shaped units and received them the other day. I haven't installed them yet but I am thinking through the installation. I will have drill a hole for the wires through the mirror housing and into the mirror mount on the main fairing. It will need some sort of a quick disconnect to allow for mirror removal, too.
I am still thinking about that.

I got them installed yesterday. I solved the connector problem by buying a 4 wire computor jumper, I think it was a disk drive extender. I removed the individual connectors from the plastic housings and had 4 pairs of small bullet connectors about 1/8 inch diameter on short wires. Female on one end, male on the other. One orange, one red an dtwo black. I spliced the signal wires to these connectors and used shrink tubing to insulate them. They still pull apart but when put together they are covered.
The big trauma was drilling through the mirror housings and the fairing. I went through between the two bottom 'snaps' so it is invisable when th emirror housings were put back on. I also had to drill through into the pocket behind the mirror glass. I was a little worried about that untill I saw the drain hole underneath the housing. It took a 1/4 inch drill bit.
I didn't take any pictures of the process, but if someone will post the directions on how to post pictures again, I will post a shot of the completed install.

Looks good, clean and functional. Your upper fairing looks unusual, do you have more photos of your bike?
I like the extra mirrors

Larry,
I have a fixed windshield from a K75RT, Parabellum I think. Thanks Duck. I never did like the motorized one. It restricted my view too much. The extra mirrors are SeangT QuickScans. The are convex and cover the blind spots quite well.
Here is a front view.
