Sneaking in on the hairy edge ? Wot you dont have a K11 ?
Help how did I get here ? I drive a 1995 Grinnall Scorpion with a 16v K1 engine and I am across the small pond in Co. Meath Ireland however I have found this site great for info and links and everyone on this site to be helpfull and in most cases knowledgeable.
At the moment I have a 1984 GPz900r A1 , a 1957ish C15/B25 trials project bike , remains of a V50 guzzi which will power an Osprey two man hovercraft all on going projects however being 43 with three kids means I rarely finish things as quickly as I would like.
Regards

Adrian Stone, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
Closer to 50 than 40, 30+ years riding. Limited competence in wielding a spanner, mostly as it usually goes wrong...a few tools and a garage
Have owned alsorts of BMWs and European/British bikes.
I'll be at the BMW Club AGM - my first one in 15 years of club membership as it's local and there's camping!

Castle Donington, Derby.
Embracing midlife crisis - K1100LT is my first proper bike (not counting 4 months with a twist'n'go Peugeot I got to get me through my 1st year's teacher training placements last year after 20 years of working for a living). I need something big, as I'm 6'4", and cheap, as I'm now a trainee teacher. I know nothing about bikes but am learning fast. K was an Ebay non-runner, ex-police then owned by succession of squaddies, then left outside for 2+ years. Got it through its MOT but its been unreliable so far; can't think why. Its getting better with each bit of work I do on it (now running on 3 pots) but it'll probably never win prizes.
Met Tim (Midlands) briefly outside Pidcocks Long Eaton last Sept as I was looking for my first bits for the K. _________________ '93 K1100LT (tatty and ex-police - the bike, not me!!.)

Hi Guys
My name is Gary and I live in Horndean, near Portsmouth (about as far South as you can get without getting your feet wet). 41 years old and definetly a 'grumpy old man' in the Stuart Prebble definition.
Married with one son (nearly 6 years old).
Had loads of bikes ranging from a CZ125 to a GTR1000. Currently own a Honda CX650 Turbo and the K1100LT.
I work overseas and only get to the UK for about 3 months a year.
Would love to meet up for tinkering and riding when I am at home. Sometimes go to Bahnstormers for a drool over what I cant afford.
See you all one day. _________________ 1984 CX650 Turbo 48k miles

I'm passing this nice looking charcoal K in Old Marston, on my way into Oxford almost every morning, it's usually parked outside a house facing the 'wrong' way and as it's the only one I've seen locally, I wouldn't mind making contact. Probably not anyone on here right? _________________ Cheers, Steve H _______________________________________

I'm probably going Chris - on the GS though so I can ride up the kerbs.
BTW - did you know there's a bike meet on wednesday evenings at the Oliver Cromwell? I can usually be found there on the K11 or GS. I'm the only one with either bike so pop in and say hi if you're passing. _________________ 1980 CB900FA

South 'ampshir'
K1100LTIC, first bike in ~20 years, ex-police as were most of my R's in the past.
Do most of my own spannering, just finished doing a gearbox swap as the original locked up at speed, the drive shaft needs replacing so STILL off the road.
Occasional visitor to Bahnstormer, usually for small bits and free coffee, prefer Loomies and normal bikers to most rich BMW owners with a chip on their shoulders though! _________________ Southern Hampshire, England.
'95 K1100LTIC (ex-police) my first road bike after 20 years without a road bike! Now backed up by an F650GS (800 twin) and a Deauville. The '52 G80C isn't a road bike so doesn't count... |

Hi Guys
thought i'd do a proper intro; well what can i say.....
50th year this one; had my midlife crisis at 40 but fancy another one at 50 Rode various bikes from my first at 16 (Honda SS50) to my latest a K11RS which i've just purchased in last couple of weeks. Also have a couple of MZ's
Left my job in January (fed up with six monthly job at risk proceedures) and found it a bit more difficult to get back into work than thought it was going to be - good biking year though
Need to get a job soon though
love the brick and gradually getting it to my liking - mostly spit and polish but with a few changes/additions (as an ex 1200 GSA owner love the little farkles in life - what do you expect )
Living near to Chorley, Lancashire but from Cumbria so will eventually go back up; mostly ride into Yorkshire and Cumbria.
Not that mechanically minded but happy to have a go once shown how to.
Have also got back into camping so here's a pic of me the tent and previous bike...
Here's a pic of my new brick part way through cleaning and sorting...
Keep safe and hopefully meet up with one or two of you sometime!! _________________ 2005 BMW 1200 RT

Looking for another brick - miss my last one!
