There was a thread here about these tires already but it disappeared.

Mods where did it go?

Anyway, I checked my tires today and they are almost completely bald.

According to my records they were put on:
March 13th 2008 75,725
Oil+bosch filter change Valvoline synthetic 20w-50
Front brake pads.
Front brake bleed
New tires Lasertec F 110/80 18 C58H R 140/80 VB 17

Now Aug 27th 82,725 miles.

7,000 miles.

That is terrible.

Now I realize that a tire will wear quicker in the summer due to the rubber being softer, but considering I once got 14k out of a set of Lasertecs I think it's time for a new tire.

Have you been riding harder? I use to just commute mostly, got 9k a set. Now I ride the twisties quite often and a lot harder than I used to and I've yet to find a brand/model tire that I'll get 5k out of.

I'm an old fart and ride like it! At under 7000 miles mine are in dire need of replacing. The rear has no tread left and the front has only about 1/32" of tread depth left. I have run 41PSI in the front and 43PSI in the rear since day one, per my local BMW dealer.

Needless to say I am less than happy with these tires.

I have a set of Pilot Road 2's to put on. Hope to make that happen this weekend. Some have said that the odd size for the rear will work fine and others say it will rub on the sidewall. Guess I will find out when they get mounted.
