came right out of one of my 93 K110RS bags. Was trying to get it open and went past the "open" position and slipped right out. Trying to get it to stay back in has been fruitless...
I am sure this has been covered somewhere...any help is mighty appreciated!

This is a top case lock core but is essentially the same in terms of how it works:
Ignore the red arrows. See the last tang on the left? That's the one that holds the lock core in the lock. That might be broken off or stuck in the lock core. IF it just got stuck somehow, spray some WD40 on it and see if you can get it moving with a pin or a tack or something.
If it's broken off or has fallen out, the other tangs, which actually do the locking, will probably hold the lock core in if the key isn't inserted. Just hold the lock core in with the fingers of your other hand while you're pulling the key out.
If you get another lock core it can be reworked to work with your key, just put your key in the lock and file down anything sticking out - except for the last one on the left of course. See red arrows. _________________ 93 LT (x2)
