Well I learned a few things this weekend.
1. I learned that my '97LT does NOT have the air flow meter in it, so no reason the check CO, cause I can't do anything about it.
2. I pulled and cleaned the air filter, replaced the plugs, started to do the T.B. sync and was watching my homemade manometer and thought WTF.... was it waaaay out of adjustment? Or did I build my manometer wrong. I thought how could it run like this. So I got digging deeper and I found the "oil return line" that comes from the top of the upper air box and connects to each of the T.B.'s on the back side. It was not connected on the backside of the #1 T.B. it was just sitting there. So I reconnected this line to the T.B. Started her up and my o my what a difference. Sync'd her all up, she runs like she's never run before.(at least not since I have had her)
3. Discovered that the fuel pressure regulator on my bike does NOT use a vacuum line. There is only the line from the fuel rail and the line back to the tank.
4. Autolite spark plugs can be installed and removed with the BMW tool in the tool kit. Champions can not. They fit the bike, but not the tool.(plug too small)So unless you want to carry another tool for spark plugs(and I don't) I'll stick with the Autolite's.
Ride Safe.
