Believe it or not, it will rain from time to time here in northeast Ohio. What I am wondering is how many of you have a rain cover for your leather seat and how often do you actually use it. Just trying to decide if I want to buy one. _________________ 1993 K1100LT

I have towels in the storage compartments.
Actually my R-bike has a lot of stitching in the seat that soaks up water so I sometimes arrive with a wet a--.

Slather it up with mink oil - then hit it with a heat gun - this will make it so that the water has nowhere to be absorbed - and keep the leather well oiled to boot. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

I just carry a half cover for the bike. Takes about 39 seconds to put on , fits in my tank bag and protects bike from rain, sun and prying eyes. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT

OGOB,
I too wondered wether to carry a garbage bag, or blue Wal-Mart
bag to cover my Russell's velour seat top, or spring for the top
of the line cover from Russell.
What I finally went with is from Laminar & goes by the name of
Kwikover. These covers can be seen at www.kwikover.com take a
look if you're interested. I'm happy with mine & of course haven't
seen a rain drop since purchasing... _________________ Kent

Might just try that mink oil trick. I have a cover I carry for when I might park it in the rain, no garage at work. I was looking for something for when I ride in the rain. Never worried about the factory seat but don't want to kill the leather on the Russell.
Thought about the garbage bag deal but figured it would just flap itself to death. _________________ 1993 K1100LT

Yea, if you got a cover to park with, do the leather treatment thing. Lots of good products to waterproof leather so I wouldn't worry about rain while riding. _________________ Scott Hespelt, '94 K11LT
