Being somewhat new here, I hadn't heard the story. Thanks for linking that!
I can almost envision your first meeting with your K bike. Slow motion, owstrich lopes through a field of flowers towards the beautiful K bike. Ok, too cliche...
Whenever you're in the Gilroy area, drop me a PM. I grew up in Morgan Hill, went to school in Gilroy and live in South San Jose. I'm sure my K bike would love to go for a trot with another K. I wouldn't mind either!
Have a great ride! _________________ M N B

Aw, shucks.
Yes, I've been thinking about you some this week, Johnny. One of those memories that's good to look back on. But I did ask myself what I was thinking while weaving amongst the abundant road kill at 1:00 am on Nevada's I-80. Good thing I had those PIAA's to cut through the moonless desert.
Funny thing about that trip was that it was the first time in about 15 years that there was any significant snow in Minnesota in April. And just in your honor, this is what we have today:
My only complaint is that this post ended up in the Dungeon. C'mon, this deserves to be Campfire material, doncha' think?
I'm off to happy hour. Gonna' raise a glass to the Black Bug-eyed Brick. _________________ tlp

I'm taking my F800S loaner bike out for a spin now for all my frozen-in KOG brothers and sisters |

f800s... you gotta be rich to ride one of those things...
so we met up with the visalia pashnit gang and rode down to bakersfield to meet up with the baskersfield pashnit gang...
ended up doing about 300 miles 2up... the other 10 motobikes were all 1 up... on everything from hooligan rice burners to a 1980s goldwing...
started in the desert...
look... its lizzy...
the foothills...
either over the hill on a mountain pass road... or split the hills on the sierra divide road... which ever is open... after miles of sweepers and switchbacks and sand and rocks and pine needles littering the road... this...
then this...
one rider went around the bend to find yesterdays snow melt had frozen over the road... so we headed down the hill and found our way back to tulare... the pashnit riders are a fine bunch of riders... not as fine as the k11og riders... but you get the picture...
so there you go... one year later...
