|

I'd already scraped my left peg and then yesterday I scraped the right side. Usually my toes hit first and I back off but I managed to get the right one down somehow yesterday.
Has anyone here ever experimented with putting peg feelers on K bike pegs? _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Duck..Now you are starting to show your age javascript:emoticon(' ')
I remember "curb feelers" as an accessory on cars as a kid growing-up in the fifties. |

No, they're a real current product. If I'm not mistaken, they're stock on Honda CBRs. I think that some K1200RS bikes have them as well. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

They are often refered to as 'Hero Blobs' here in the UK.
Mrs Chopper has a VFR 800, and hers are due for replacement
Honda part number, - 90176-MCW-D00 - $4 each.
They are an M6 thread, drilled and tapped at about 45' into the foot peg, appx 10 mm from the outer edge.
It should be simple to drill and tap an M6 thread - this will depend on what depth of alloy you have to play with on the K pegs ?
(It is late here, and I cannot be bothered to go to the garage to check !)
It would certainly surprise any following sportbike rider, to see a shower of sparklies coming from the pegs on a K bike _________________ C1 200 (2001)

I did some looking into this. The K1200RS ones are only $5 each. If they have a normal thread then I might try those. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

| My footpegs don't touch down when I ride, other parts do. On the left side, the belly pan drags. On the right, the center stand drags... |

I don't think I ever get that close to dragging anything.
My foot touches and I puss out. _________________ Bane of your existence since July 2006

That's what I usually do too. Just be careful on the left side. I once hit a centerline reflector with my left toes. It hurts. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Gwen is obviously a very studly rider.
(Either that or that 200 pound tool kit she carries is making the bike ride low. ) _________________ 93 LT (x2)

No, my peg dragin' days are over.
The suspension is back to stock with Olins on the rear.
And too many crashes and broken bikes and bones.
If I ever had a edge, it's long gone. It's very liberating. _________________ 1993 K1100RS aka The Shop Whore

Peg feelers have a purpose. They are designed to be the first thing that touches down before something hard, that will lever a wheel off of the road, does. If your pegs are touching first, you don't need them unless you want to protect your pegs. If you're dragging your center stand or bodywork first, you could us a set for sure. _________________ Paul - '93 K11/12RS (sold), 2002 R1100S BCP and '03 RC51 KOG 29 |
