Thanx for the info.

Pyrimid has them for about $38 + freight from G.B.
Twistedthrottle does not carry the extender or fork gaiters.

I am also looking for fork gaiters. Can any of youse guys help with that?

Thank you,
Ragmab

Look here for a fender extender: http://www.redstarmotogear.com/p/bmw-k1100lt-fender-extender.php If you poke around the internet a bit, you might be able to find it a few bucks cheaper - it's still cheaper than the one you found.

Click the search button (at the top of every page) and type gaiter in the search box. Due to misspellings, you can also search for gaitor.

Some of the guys use Rancho shock boots. You can also get BMW for gaiters that fit - they are made for an R bike.

Ragman, I just purchased 4 Rancho #1952 with shipping was only $23.
1 set to slit and put on now, the other set to save and put on the next time I have the forks apart.

Bought them from AutoPartsWay thru Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000CPCCFY/sr=8-2/qid=1207605995/ref=olp_tab_new?ie=UTF8&coliid=&me=&qid=1207605995&sr=8-2&seller=&colid=&condition=new

I had to shorten them about 1-1/2" but they fit fine.

Ride Safe

Scott

These are some inexpensive gaiters that I believe I got from A&S BMW. They are neoprene and installed in about two minutes with some sticky tape on the inside of a slit up the back. They only cost about $10 or less. They are not very tall, but I figure they cover most of the travel area of the tubes, better than nothing and look fairly unobtrusive.

Twisted Throttle lists it right on the page linked above. It's at:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4329/600/

but it's cheaper at redstarmoto...

I bought a real nice front fender extender off ebay a couple weeks ago for a fair price. The quality is better than I expected, its is made out of a rubber material instead of hard plastic. Theres another one listed from the same seller I bought mine from on ebay now and the shipping was fast and cheap. Just search for K1100LT.

Ragman,
I left the slit open in the back. I used a couple of Zipties to fasten at the bottom and the top. I'm considering using a couple more "baby ties" to help close up the back and help it from bulging in the middle. Either way it's protecting the front of the fork slider.

Ride Safe.

Scott.
