Found this at BMW MOA.

Quote:
Greetings,

The domain is correctly registered and does not expire for a full year, plus it is on auto renew.

This is being addressed but being a holiday some of the people with the right keys are not on-line as of yet.

Stay tuned.

Best,

I just talked with TomC - the domain register fubared the DNS entry when it auto-renewed. Hopefully should be fixed in 24 hours or so.

IBMWR is mine now.
I jumped in and sniped the domain name before the auto-renew could take place.
IBMWR will soon be my personal marketplace for selling laminated mororcycle ads from old magazines.
Enjoy! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

That is a sore subject with me. I owned a domain for 7 years and Internic yanked it over some bullshit about my not using a real address and phone number. They didn't provide an anonymous service like you can get now and I was getting phone calls from kids because I was heavily involved in the development of some chat software and was a sort of celebrity in those circles due to that.

So I used a fake number and address and they didn't care for years. One day I get an email complaining about it and I respond back trying to determine how I can make them happy without opening myself up to abuse and having to buy a non-existant post office box (you cannot get one here, they're all gone). Renewal was coming up, so I paid. Less than 7 days later, they cancelled the domain, did not refund the renewal and some belgian domain name squatter snatched it up and has done nothing with it ever since.

I tried not to say anything but I just can't do it. Rydor, why would you snatch someone's domain name when you know they want it? They've had it for years. Someone messed up and you poached their name. That's just rude.

Just a joke... My moral compass would never allow such a thing. Hell, if I was starving, I wouldn't steal a french fry off J.O.'s dinner plate...

If you were starving, you'd need that french fry more than JO - furthermore, he'd give it to you...
