well i have a fork that self sealed.. this is not a joke. last year towards the end of summer my right fork started leaking ;not much, but was able to make a sudo gatior. i had planed to get it fixed during my vacation which is comming up. well on the ride to and from work last nite i noticed that the leaking has stopped . their is still the fine film of oil on the fork and i still have fluid in the tube.

has this happened to anybody? could someone explain why this condition happens to the seals ? if it self sealed why did it seal?

any thoughts any one.

Possibly that the oil level is low enough not to leak now. I'd bet that if you drained whats left and refilled with proper amount that it would leak again.
Just MHO.

Scott could be right or a bit of dirt worked it's way out just like it worked it's way in. I'd follow Scott's recommendation of draining/refilling to be sure. And while you're at it, you might as well refill both.
