Because it is an aluminum liner block, the only way I have seen to make a big bore kit is to machine out the block and insert iron sleeves. Considering how well the aluminum works, it would be a backwards step. (Actually the block is treated with a Nikasil coating on the bores and does not have liners.)
About 20 or more years ago, Luftmeister out of California was marketing a big bore kit for the K100. I don't think they ever did a K11. They also made a turbocharger with intercooler setup for K bikes. I could be wrong, but I don't believe anyone is making such a kit in the US. There may be something in Europe.
A set of K1200RS/GT cams will give you a seat of the pants increase in power if that is what you are after with little loss in the lower rpm range. I have that setup in my hybrid and I like it. Cheaper and less hassle in my opinion.

So, in layman's terms, you're saying the you can drop some K1200 cams into a K1100 engine and get some more oomph?
Is is that simple?
How about the valve clearances? Same as the K1100 specs?
Still use the K11 Moronic?
Anything else I"m missing here?
I suppose this mod comes with a drop in mileage though as I know performance is never free. _________________ 93 LT (x2)

Duckbubbles is right.....you really can't do anything to the engine block. Head...YES, port and polish and maybe take 20 to 40,000 off head (resurface it). The company that used to build the turbo kits for Luftmeister is still in business...RB Racing here in Los Angeles. They make a great exhaust system that no one seems to have tried.....I had thought about it for years but never got around to it. AND....they still make a turbo for the K11's. Here are a couple of links to check them out.....I can tell you they are very busy with the cruiser crowd these days, so if you decide to do it (and be prepared to lay out some major green), be prepared to get on to a very long waiting list....they have a very good reputation for making high quality products:

The K12RS cams are a drop in for the K11 engine. On mine, I had to change just three shims by one size to get the valve clearance back to spec. No changes to the Motronic have been necessary. Mileage hasn't changed very much if at all, ridden the same. You will notice the increase in torque at about 5000 and more power above 6000. Changing them is no harder than doing a valve adjustment where you have to change a shim on each cam. The K12RS engine was rated at 130 hp. The K11 was 100, I think. I believe the cams are probably worth 10 hp. No dyno to back that up just the change in feel of the engine.
Another alternative might be to find a K12RS or GT engine and swap it. The bellhousing would have to be swapped. but everything else could be used from the K11. Use the K11 clutch setup to mate the transmission. Wera32 put a K12LT engine is his K11RS.
